Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the faOtools website at faotools.com (the "Site") and the related services we provide, including our support portal. By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. Full company identification is available in our Legal Notice.

1. Who we are

The Site and services are operated by the faOtools business (EU VAT ID PT332289761), based in Seixal, Portugal. faOtools develops and publishes apps that extend Odoo.

2. Our apps, purchases, and licensing

faOtools apps are sold and delivered through the Odoo Apps Store. Purchases, invoicing, and payment are processed by Odoo S.A. under Odoo's own terms; we do not process or store your payment-card details. All our apps are distributed under the Odoo Proprietary License v1.0 (OPL-1). Your use of the apps is subject to that license - see our License terms for the full text and what it allows, including building derivative modules on top of ours as a dependency.

3. Support and demos

We provide free support and bug fixes for the entire lifetime of the Odoo major version for which you purchased an app. Support is delivered through our support portal. We also offer free live demos for most apps so you can evaluate them before purchase. Support covers the app as published; extensive custom development or third-party module conflicts may fall outside free support, in which case we will tell you before doing any paid work.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Site, including by attempting to gain unauthorised access, disrupting the service, scraping content at scale, or using the Site in violation of applicable law or of the app license. We may suspend access that threatens the security or availability of the Site.

5. Intellectual property and trademarks

"faOtools" and the faOtools logo are trademarks of faOtools. The Site content, apps, and documentation are protected by intellectual-property rights and may be used only as permitted by these Terms and the applicable license. "Odoo" is a trademark of Odoo S.A.; we use it to describe compatibility with Odoo and our participation in the Odoo partner program. faOtools is an independent company and is not Odoo S.A.

6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties regarding the Site's availability or fitness for a particular purpose. App-specific warranties and disclaimers are set out in the OPL-1 license. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer under Portuguese or EU law, or our liability for matters that cannot be excluded by law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Site.

7. Third-party links

The Site may link to third-party websites (for example the Odoo Apps Store, YouTube, or documentation resources). We are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites.

8. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Statement and Cookie Policy.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date shows the latest revision. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal and applicable European Union law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence. If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
