The tool for real-time control of customer and opportunity duplicates
This is an Odoo sales manager tool to exclude double work and broken communication through fore-handed exposure of duplicates of customers and opportunities.
Real-time search of duplicates
The tool detects duplicates for Odoo partners and opportunities. Checks are done each time a document is opened or saved: on kanban, tree, and form views. It means that the search is done in real-time and takes into account all recent changes
Soft and rigid duplicates
The tool lets you both strictly avoid duplicates and/or just warn of those. Use rigid criteria to fully exclude duplicate creation. Use soft criteria to only notify salespersons of possible duplicates
Configurable duplicates criteria
Duplicates are defined according to the rules which you set up. A rule is a field according to which an item is considered a copy. For example, an email or a unique number. A document is considered a duplicate if it satisfies any of the criteria
Duplicates detection by storable fields
As duplicate criteria use any stored field of the following types: char, text, many2one, selection, date and datetime, integer, and float
Compatible with Odoo standard features
The module supports multi companies. Duplicates are searched within a certain company. Thus, there might be equal objects related to different corporates. Found opportunities duplicates might be merged through the standard Odoo merging tool
Smart consideration
For partners, the tool lets restrict the search only to companies and stand-alone individuals (without a company). In this way, simple contacts will not be included in duplicate detection. For CRM cases, you may search duplicates only for opportunities, only for leads, or for both simultaneously. Optionally hide the kanban/tree counters to speed the loading up
Superuser Exception
Optionally, allow rigid duplicates created under Superuser. In this way, bypass rigid rules in Odoo eCommerce public checkouts and contact us forms.

the module is what i need to finally get rid of mess among customers.. quite fast and indicative. The kiling feature is custom field (vin number) search. developers provided testing odoo and answered questions within an hour. good job!
Configurable duplicates criteria

Define on your own which fields should be used to search for duplicates

Search criteria for rigid and soft duplicates, for partners and opportunities, are set up independently

As duplicate criteria use any stored field of the following types: char (name, email, phone, mobile, etc.), text (descriptions), many2one (reference for a parent company or a related customer), selection (for instance, type), date and datetime (e.g. birthday), integer and float (any unique code or even planned revenue)

For all fields, a duplicate should have absolutely the same value. For example, '123' equals '123', but '123' is not equal '1234'

Only for the case of soft search by char fields, it is the operator 'ilike'. Thus, 'agro' is considered to be a potential duplicate of 'Agrolait' (but Agrolait is not considered a duplicate of 'agro')

For CRM cases, you may restrict the duplicate detection only to opportunities or only to leads

For partners' duplicates, you may restrict the search only to companies and stand-alone individuals. If the option is checked, Odoo will search only for and only among partners without a parent.
Performance issues
The tool is optimized to make searches as efficient as Odoo ORM allows it. Simultaneously, with a growing number of documents, a search will become slower.
Since the search is done in real-time Odoo has to check all shown records for duplicates among all existing records. For example, when you open opportunities' kanban with 80 items, and you have 10,000 leads, the tool makes 80 searches by your criteria among 10000 documents. It may result in slowdowns of the following operations:
- Opening kanban and list views of customers and opportunities. To avoid that, you may turn off showing the counter for a corresponding view.
- Saving changes after updating partners or leads. To avoid that, assign only soft parameters and neglect rigid ones.

Usually, it takes a few business days to prepare a working plan for an issue (if a bug is confirmed) or provide you with guidelines on what should be done (otherwise).
