Assign a complementary task type and limit each custom field to the types that need it. Leave types empty to show the field for everyone. R&D and implementation work can carry different property sets without cluttering every form.

Set a portal placement so customers see selected custom fields on the task portal page. Use a separate portal edit placement for project sharing / edit mode — so external collaborators work with the same business columns your team uses internally.

Please include as many details as possible in your request: screenshots, Odoo server logs, a full description of how to reproduce your problem, and so on. Usually, it takes a few business days to prepare a working plan for an issue (if a bug is confirmed) or provide you with guidelines on what should be done (otherwise).
